A generic CV gets skimmed in seconds. Here is how to brief an AI on your full background once, then reshape your CV for every job description in minutes, plus a free Swiss CV template to start from.

Build your AI knowledge file

do this once

Before you touch your CV, spend 20 to 30 minutes with an AI chat tool building a knowledge file about yourself. This becomes the raw material every future application draws from, so be thorough.

Explain your work and education in full detail Go role by role, degree by degree. Explain what the organisation did, what your actual responsibilities were, which tools you used, and what changed because you were there. Don't summarise yet. More context now means better tailoring later.
Let the AI interview you Ask it to keep questioning you until it has a complete picture: problems you solved, decisions you made, numbers you can point to. Good follow-up questions surface achievements you would never have thought to write down yourself.
Have it write up a structured knowledge file Ask for a document covering every role, project, and skill, with the concrete details and numbers attached. Save it. This is the single source your AI pulls from for every future application, so you never have to re-explain your background again.

Tailor it to each job

repeat per application

Once your knowledge file exists, tailoring a CV takes minutes instead of an evening.

Upload your CV template and the job description Give the AI both documents plus your knowledge file, and ask it to rewrite your CV so the most relevant experience for this specific role sits at the top and the language mirrors the job posting.
Check every line before you send it AI-tailored bullets can drift toward generic phrasing or state details that sound plausible but aren't accurate. Compare each claim against your knowledge file and rewrite anything that doesn't sound like you.

CV fundamentals that hold up in Switzerland

Reverse chronological, always List your most recent role or degree first. Swiss recruiters expect it, and anything else makes them work to find what matters.
Cut what isn't relevant A CV is not a full history of your life. Choose the experience that speaks to this role and leave the rest out, even if it means dropping something you're proud of.
Include a photo Many Swiss employers still expect one on a CV, unlike in the US or UK. A plain, professional headshot is enough. No photo can quietly cost you a look.
Keep it to two pages, ideally one If you're early career, one page. Recruiters spend seconds on a first pass, and extra length rarely helps you.
Students: your projects are your experience No internship yet? Lead with university projects, theses, and things you built or organised outside class. Treat them exactly like a job: what you did, which tools you used, what came out of it.
Quantify every achievement you can "Improved the reporting process" tells a recruiter nothing. "Cut monthly reporting time from three days to four hours" tells them everything. Attach a number wherever one exists.
Skip the skill bars and soft-skill labels Self-rated skill graphics ("Excel: 4 out of 5 stars") are noise, not signal, and a list of "team player, hard worker" convinces no one. Show soft skills through what you did, not a label.
Design: minimal, not memorable One font, one accent colour, generous white space. A CV's job is to be read fast, not to look designed.
